Primrose Park

Our local group is a great starting point Primrose Park Photography is an informal photographic co-operative generously supported by the North Sydney council.
The group aims to provide a relaxed and friendly environment in which members can enhance their photographic skills. The meetings take place at The Arts and Craft Centre situated in Matora Lane (off Young Street) Cremorne. Don’t let the fact that in the 1920s it was used as a sewage treatment plant put you off. The building now offers everything a photographer could wish for. From darkrooms to full theatre facilities.

Learn from others.

There are plenty of great photographers and teachers who run fabulous courses and classes to help you get more out of your photography. Here is our pick of them.

Lenard Metcalf

len-school

Len Metcalf is an internationally collected fine art photographer who is based in Australia. Vivid and detailed photographs are the result of utilizing large format cameras, while his expertise in outdoor pursuits gives him access to unfrequented places in remote wilderness areas located around the world.

Leonard’s teaching is exemplarily , he has been training teachers for the past 15 years (University Lecturer for the School of Adult Education at UTS), and now mentors vocational teachers for TAFE NSW. We can highly recommend Lenard for any type of photographic education you might be interested in.

Richard White

richard

Richard is a freelance photographer who lives in Mansfield, Victoria in South Eastern Australia. He is a Double Master of Photography with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), a regular judge at their annual convention and a past president of the Victorian Division. In 2003 he won the Landscape division of the Victorian Awards and received an Arts Council grant for overseas study. He is also a regular exhibitor of landscape photography and keynote speaker at photographic conventions. He runs photographic workshops all over the world often in partnership with those countries top landscape photographers.

Paul Daniels Guided photo tours of the Himalaya

india-photo-1

‘Journey Through the Lens’ is a three-week photographic journey into the remote regions of the Indian Himalayas. Our route through desert, mountain and forest landscapes along an ancient Hindustan-Tibet trade route leads us into living Tibetan Buddhist culture.

This trip is tailored for photographers. Your guides are experienced landscape, wildlife and photojournalism photographers in their own right, willing to share with you their photographic tips as well as their knowledge of India and the Himalayas. We believe the only way to capture the feeling of a place in an image is to experience it personally, and our trips are designed to ensure you can do this.

From professional photographers who simply seek access to these remote regions, through experienced amateurs keen to hone their craft in an inspiring environment, to people new to photography but enthusiastic to advance their skills, the ‘Journey Through The Lens’ is an opportunity to engage with the human and natural landscapes of a region which has much to offer. An experience not to missed!
