John ( aka Biggles) takes to the Air.

What an adventure flying back to the 1940’s.
Dad was given a flight in a 1940’s Boeing Stearman as a birthday present. Well last weekend we all travelled down to Camden Airfield to see him take off.

The Boeing Stearman

The plane and pilot were provided by Airborne Aviation who did a great job of making the flight enjoyable even for us that weren’t taking to the air.

At least it has plenty of spare cylinders

The Stearman was used by the US Airforce in the same capacity as our Tiger Moth was. The plane you see here has been fully restored from the ground up. It has a radial engine and the passenger gets to sit in the front.

Some quick pre flight instructions

Dad had a great time and came back from his flight with a big wide grin! He wholeheartedly recommends the experience to anyone and as he said I can now cross another thing off the list!
